Umega Lettings

Edinburgh

Wake up. Kick ass. Repeat.

It’s the message on the reusable cups we leave for our new tenants. But it’s more than just a phrase, it’s an ethos and what makes us tick.

Now more than ever, we need to live up to this message. We’re experiencing first-hand how the private rented sector and tenants’ homes are more important to them than ever before, and we’re leading on improvements being made across the sector relating to service levels and standards. We do this by hiring the right people and creating the conditions for them to succeed.

This is where you come in.

At Umega, we’re on the hunt for bar-raisers, go-getters and self-starters to join us throughout the summer months, which are our busiest time of the year.

If you’re passionate about people and have a genuine interest in working within a dynamic and fast-paced letting agency, please send across your CV and most importantly, a cover letter which makes us stop and think: ‘we’d be mad not to hire them!’

(Applications without cover letters will not be considered – we’re putting ourselves out there, are you?).

Are you and Umega a perfect match?

We’re looking for an individual who is eager to work in a fast-paced, lively environment, can bring energy and enthusiasm to work every day and who is willing to turn their hand to whatever comes their way as we navigate coming out of lockdown into a busy summer period. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, be exceptionally confident in managing your own time and schedule whilst working out of the office, be familiar with Edinburgh city geography and have a keen eye for detail with a bit of creative flair.

Our Property Marketing Team are focused on securing tenancies for our properties which are on the market. They have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the market dynamics, and they take pride in ensuring our properties are rented quickly to good tenants. This team works in one of the busiest areas of our business, so speed and responsiveness are key, as is the ability to think on your feet and act quickly.

This role will primarily be focused on visiting our properties across Edinburgh and the Lothians, supporting our Property Marketing Team by creating marketing material for our portfolio (descriptions, photos, 360 tours and floorplans). Your job is to make sure our properties are presented brilliantly so they stand out in the market and attract fantastic tenants, so your attention to detail is important as you’ll need to do a bit of staging and have an understanding about how to show our properties in their best light. Photography/videography experience is not essential, as our fantastic Giraffe360 cameras do the hard part there! You’ll also be expected to support our Property Marketing Team with other mobile work from time to time (this may include delivering items to properties, having keys cut and tested as a couple of examples).

This role is temporary from May - end August 2021, but permanent opportunities are highly likely to be available to the right candidate.

We’re a company led by two friends who believe in a better way of doing business through integrity built on transparency, leadership grounded in humility, and light-hearted honesty underpinned by bravery. Umega is constantly striving to understand and deliver a better service and experience for both our customers and employees. We have fun but also look to set standards in the industry and beyond. We expect a desire to constantly improve from everyone in the business! There are plenty of opportunities to learn, develop and progress and we want you to come with a great appetite and attitude to getting stuck-in and learning as you go.

We show what we’re really about:

We’re open in the way we work and communicate, and we show our vulnerabilities. We don’t believe that you can learn without making some mistakes along the way, it’s about how you pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and try, try again. We’re people-people, but most importantly, we’re just people. Our employees don’t leave their personalities at the door, we bring ourselves in bucket loads.

We take the plunge:

We want our team to be brave, play, experiment, and ultimately find a better way of doing things. We can always do more. We expect our team to step out of their comfort zone. We’ll support you to get the best out of yourself whether you are with us for two years or ten!

We ask a lot from our staff, but in return, we give a lot back.
