We are seeking a Key Account Manager to join our friendly sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all activity relating to the strategic development and delivery of short, medium, and long-term plans to key corporates, buying groups and charities in the UK as defined by the Senior Key Account Manager.
As a Key Account Manager,
you will be accountable for the development of key strategic veterinary partnerships, focusing specifically in the areas of new key account acquisition, growth, profitability and retention by utilising the full suite Covetrus portfolio of products and services.
Strong commercial awareness and strategic acumen is mandatory as well as proven sales and negotiation abilities. Furthermore, market and competitor awareness, detailed analytical skills, cross functional working with key internal and external stakeholders and developing compliance across the Covetrus portfolio of product and service offerings will be a core function of this position.
Essential Duties and Repsonsibilities :
Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve business objectives and increase market share.
Translate the company vision and corporate objectives into strategic initiatives and joint business plans with key corporates, buying groups and charities to support Covetrus value proposition deployment in the market,
including technology services, products and services.
Develop a commercial culture of partnership and co development with clients driving mutual, profitable growth.
Design mutual projects to co create value with corporates, GPOs, Universities, Buying groups & charities.
Develop and lead all key account strategies within defined Corporates, GPO’s & charities. With focus on building and maintaining long term relationships with key stakeholders lead and manage the end to end processes within each group negotiate terms, conditions & pricing identify opportunity for sales team interaction & provide feedback on activity
Ensure long term commercial viability through structured business plans & detailed strategy.
Participate in and actively contribute to the Senior Management Team meetings, sharing successes and recommendations for investment and alliances.
Work collaboratively with marketing on product development activities and selection of products to increase visibility and opportunity to tender with key corporate partners.
Actively seek to develop market, competitor and industry knowledge on a regular basis.
Achieve sales objectives and KPI’s as defined and agreed with the Commercial Director by focusing on agreed key activities.
Report monthly on performance v budget, corporate development and implementation of key projects to the Senior Key Account Manager.
Identify growth opportunities within key accounts and proactively propose innovative solutions.
Collaborate with customer support teams to streamline processes and improve overall customer satisfaction.
Provide regular reports and presentations to internal stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Personal Qualities, Skills and Knowledge required :
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in account management or business development, preferably within the veterinary or animal health industry.
Strong understanding of the veterinary industry, its stakeholders, and emerging trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with key accounts.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify growth opportunities,
and propose innovative solutions.
Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Willingness to travel to industry events, conferences, and key account locations as required.
