We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join our Gynaecology, Hepatobiliary, Thoracic Surgery Unit at The London Clinic.

We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £35,743 - £46,438 per annum.

Our Gynaecology, Hepatobiliary, Thoracic surgery unit has 18 beds and is an acute ward where step down from ICU is common.

We look after patient’s post operatively; however, we also admit patients who requires medical management. Surgeries include;

Liver resection, Whipples, Cholecystectomy, Oesophagectomy, Inguinal & umbilical hernia repair, Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, Polypectomy, Ovarian Cystectomy and Hysteroscopy.

Job Profile

As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of patient centred care,





including the appropriate assessment and evaluation of nursing interventions and ongoing care planning, quality improvement and service delivery alongside the multidisciplinary team.

- Job Location : This role is located at The London Clinic’s main hospital site in London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
- Job Type : This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Sunday. Shifts include; rotational Long Days, Nights & Weekends.
- Salary : The salary range for this role is £35,743 - £46,438 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting and shift enhancements), depending on skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Delivery of individualised patient care of the highest standard, acting as the named nurse, ensuring the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation is in line with evidence base practices.
- Promote safe practice and professional conduct, and competent in the recognition of life threatening / emergency situations.
- Organise workload in-line with clinical priorities,





and establish good working relationships with specialist practitioners and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.
- Ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents.
- Contribute to research and development programmes as well as uphold quality initiatives that improve customer / patient care’ as well as participate in the audit process where appropriate.

Skills & Experience

- Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Post registration acute surgical ward experience with sound evidence-based knowledge in general nursing, and familiar with a variety of Nursing models
- Experience with Gynaecology,





Hepatology and / or Thoracic patients would be desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
- Effective interpersonal and organisational skills with a calm and pleasant disposition, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills and is respectful to a diverse range of patients from various cultures and backgrounds, with the confidence to assess situations and make clinical decisions appropriately.
