An exciting opportunity has arisen for a consultant radiologist to join our team at Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospital Trust.

This is a new post and has arisen due to an increase in demand for radiology services and as a part of transformation and expansion. This is a locum post for 1 year to begin with a view to be made substantive after a year.
The advertised post is to support general radiology with contribution to musculoskeletal imaging.
The successful applicants should have completed training in diagnostic radiology and must have experience in musculoskeletal imaging and or a relevant training fellowship.

Workload is varied, but general radiology largely consists of supporting inpatient /AE service, and outpatient cross-sectional imaging and ultrasound/ FNAs. Contribution to musculoskeletal imaging services include supporting Ultrasound and reporting relevant cross-sectional imaging and participating in relevant MDTs.
The candidate will be expected to support general diagnostic radiology on-call service as well.
Locum Consultant Radiologist with interest in Musculoskeletal Imaging
The post-holder will join a diverse team of subspecialty radiologists and orthopaedic surgeons in the delivery of an efficient, expanding, and sustainable musculoskeletal radiology service.
The successful candidate will have specific training and experience in all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging. They will be able to lead clinic-radiological meetings, primarily supporting the cancer. Skills in musculoskeletal interventional procedures are not mandatory but there will be a degree of flexibility to accommodate the successful candidate’s preferences and interests.
It is expected that the appointee will also be able to support this across the sites.
The post is designed to share the responsibility for the provision of comprehensive diagnostic services including the provision of a range of MDT and on-call services.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the general work of the department - including general CT, MRI, US,
and plain film reporting - and to support departmental objectives.
Contribution to the general duty roster which involves vetting cross-sectional scans and solving queries from clinical and radiology teams is mandatory.
It is mandatory to cover general diagnostic radiology on-call commitment equally with existing consultants. Currently, there is a 1:12 rota. The on call is outsourced after 8 pm on weekdays and 6 pm on weekends.
