Randstad, in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Uckfield, is seeking a dedicated and resilient 1 : 1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 4 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile.
The Role :
- Hours : 12 : 00 PM to 3 : 30 PM (Monday to Friday)
- Support Focus : Working one-on-one with a child in Year 4 who has ASD and PDA.
- Challenges :
The child can exhibit challenging behaviors and requires a patient, understanding, and consistent approach.
- Long-Term Commitment : This role has the potential to transition from temporary to permanent for the right candidate.
What We Are Looking For :
- Resilience : The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Experience : Prior experience working with children with ASD, PDA, or other SEN needs is highly desirable.
- Patience and Empathy : A nurturing approach to help the child manage their behavior and achieve their full potential.
- Commitment : Willingness to work with the child on a long-term basis, ensuring stability and trust are built.
