Job description
WGM have an excellent opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join the business on a Full-time permanent basis working within our Glasgow office,The Transport Supervisor responsibility is to support the Transport Manager to ensure all WGM Engineering departments have the correct fleet positioned to execute the job correctly.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Support management to ensure all WGM transport needs are met.
- Coordinating correct specification of transport to each department.
- Book and maintain all service / MOT and records for vehicles.
- Maintain and analyse data on VR Centre and Inseego.
- Ensure vehicles are insured via MID
- Preparing reports on fleet activity, allocations, fuel usage,
CO2 and vehicle maintenance, tax and MOT schedules
- Communicating with other departments to ensure smooth running of transport and other business needs.
- Document and investigate all accident damage to vans and communicate with line managers and outsourced repair centres.
- Support WGM’s transition from hired to owned vans.
- Ensure drivers are completing fleet checks.
- Support transport Manager with random fleet inspections on van’s.
- Use own initiative and be pro-active with thinking
- Must be flexible to business to ensure requests and deadlines are actioned.
- Abide by GDPR
- Transport Managers CPC (Desirable)
- Knowledge on Operators Licence essential
- Experience with route planning essential.
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar Transport related role.
Previous experience working within an engineering or construction related industry would be beneficial for this position.
The ideal candidate will have strong planning and organisational skills and have the ability to communicate with Stakeholders at various levels across the business.
Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential for the position.
