An exciting opportunity has arisen in the breast speciality as a Band 7 Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist, part time 30 hour.
Whilst based in Ipswich there may be occasional need to work across the ESNEFT sites. Significant previous breast clinical nurse specialist experience and attainment of a breast care qualification is essential.
You will be a key member of the team and make an important contribution to the care and management of patients with breast problems including those undergoing treatment for primary breast cancer, by providing support and specialist nursing advice to the patients, their relatives and other health care professionals.
Following the national initiative, you will be fundamental to providing patient centred follow up and be able to contribute to service development in line with local and national initiatives.
We require someone who is caring and compassionate with a committed attitude to be able to respond positively and flexibly to the challenges of delivering this service.
You must be able to work both autonomously, as part of a small team and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and be enthusiastic, motivated and driven to provide high quality and high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
To provide a highly developed standard of specialist breast care knowledge, advice, clinical expertise and education, underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience, to patients, families,
and other health care professionals regarding the management of breast disease.
To have continuing responsibility for providing co-ordinated, holistic care for patients with breast disease from diagnosis, throughout treatment and specified follow up pathway.
To participate in aspects of clinical governance and implement quality initiatives as part of the audit process to both set and evaluate standards of care and service delivery within the nursing team and when appropriate the multidisciplinary team.
To contribute to the development of the breast care service within the Trust, demonstrating and raising awareness of the contribution of expert nursing to patient care.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (level 1)
- 1st level degree in a relevant subject
- Relevant specialist long course in breast care at degree level
- Evidence of mentoring and coaching
- Advanced communication course
- Psychological level 2 training
Desirable
- Evidence of working at Masters degree level
- Evidence of clinical history taking skills
- Clinical breast examination course or willingness to undertake
- Training and competence in micro-pigmentation or willing ness to undertake
Experience
Essential
- Registered Nurse with proven relevant experience at Band 6 caring for patients with breast disorders
- Ability to empathise and provide advice to patients and their families
- Ability to manage a caseload of patients
- Extensive experience of working autonomously at an advanced level within specialist area delivering effective patient focused care
