Description
Join our dynamic residential leadership team as the Registered Manager of our home in Woking, which specialises in supporting children aged 11-14 with global developmental delay. This exciting opportunity has arisen as our current Registered Manager has been promoted within our growing services.
Salary:
The salary range for a Registered Manager role within our in-house Residential Children's Service is £52,047 - £57,125 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

About Us
Surrey is currently the 7th largest Local Authority provider of in-house children's homes in the UK, and our ambitious sufficiency plans see us set to become the largest LA residential provider within the next 12-24 months. This is an exciting time to join us and help shape our residential services for the children of Surrey.
As a Registered Manager you will lead the team supporting children and young people with high and complex needs. Many of our children and young people will have had numerous placement breakdowns and be vulnerable to child sexual exploitation, criminalisation or have mental health challenges.
About the Role
As a Registered Manager you will have strong leadership abilities, passion and motivation for running your home so that it is welcoming and safe for your team, children, and young people.
We are looking for leaders who:
- Have good regulatory knowledge with a practical understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework
- Prioritise safeguarding children and young people and ensure positive outcomes through creative and innovative methods
- Can demonstrate a strength-based, individualised, and proactive leadership approach underpinned by collaboration and effective assessment and risk management
- Understand and foster an inclusive and positive team culture, providing support so that staff and children feel welcomed, valued and able to achieve their potential
- Can establish and build trust with staff, children and key stakeholders across residential services and care
- Have a strong focus on team performance and development using team supervision, career conversations and feedback to support staff and identify improvements
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent and an ability to meet Ofsted regulatory requirements to become a Registered Manager
- In-depth knowledge of delivering statutory childcare services and have had, at least 2 years' experience within children's residential care, within the last 5 years
- Proven leadership and managerial skills in a social care or health setting
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of individuals, built on trust in sometimes challenging situations
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
