ESG and Impact Manager

Location: London, United Kingdom

We are recruiting for an experienced ESG and Impact Manager to join our Frontier and Emerging Markets Investment Team, and to become our internal expert on all ESG, impact, and sustainability matters.

The role will play an integral role in evolving our ESG and impact framework for the Record Emerging Market Sustainable Finance fund (the Fund), whilst also supporting ESG-related initiatives across the Group including reporting to voluntary and regulatory sustainability disclosures.

Record Financial Group: Record is a leading specialist currency and asset manager with $102.7 billion (as at 28 June 2024) in Assets Under Management Equivalent.





Record's services include currency management, sustainable finance, and asset management. Our clients are largely institutions, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices.

The relevant team are based in the London office.

Position: ESG and Impact Manager
Department: Frontier and Emerging Markets Investment Team
Role: Full time (37.5 hours per week). Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the London office
Line Manager: Andreas Koester, Head of Emerging Market and Frontier Investments

Key Responsibilities:

ESG Integration

- Collaborate with the Fund's portfolio managers to ensure ESG considerations are integrated into their due diligence, portfolio management and risk assessment processes.
- Conduct ESG analysis for Fund on a quarterly basis, including PAI and DNSH assessments.
- Oversee integration of ESG for investment strategies across the business.

Governance

- Work with senior leadership to ensure sustainability is integrated successfully into investment,





risk management and financial decision-making across the business.
- Take recommendations and proposals to improve ESG practices to our Board-level Sustainability Committee for approval and lead implementation.

Reporting

- Support business with ESG / Impact-related client materials e.g. performance reports, RFPs and DDQs.
- Lead reporting to voluntary (UN PRI, CDP, UN Global Compact) and regulatory sustainability frameworks (ISSB, TCFD, EU SFDR, SDR and Sustainable Investment Labels)
- Evolve impact reporting for the Fund in line with OPIM principles and work alongside impact verification consultants to deliver best practice.

Impact Measurement & Monitoring (IMM)

- Design and implement IMM frameworks to measure social and environmental impacts of the Fund's investments.







Engagement

- Engage with key stakeholders, including investors, investees, industry groups, and regulators, to communicate the Fund's impact ambitions and gather insights to inform our approach.

Regulatory disclosures and industry alignment

- Stay informed about relevant sustainability and ESG regulations, standards, and best practices, and ensure adherence to these requirements.
- Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in the ESG space, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance our impact.

Requirements:

- Excellent academic record.
- 3-5 years' experience in an ESG/Sustainable Investment/Impact role within the investment sector.
- Proven experience with the implementation of sustainable finance frameworks including EU SFDR,





UN PRI, and UN SDGs.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective stakeholder engagement/management with the ability to build good relationships internally and externally, influence decision-making and inspire at all levels of the business.
- Proactive with individual accountability; takes ownership to drive delivery forwards without instruction.
- Effective problem-solving skills to design and implement solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Passionate about the ESG/sustainability/impact space with the willingness to stay informed of the latest trends, research, and best practices in sustainability.






- Ability to adapt to evolving sustainability challenges and opportunities.
- Quantitative and data management skills are highly desirable.
