Job description
We are recruiting a part time (17.5 hours per week) Senior Information Governance Officer role that will lead on establishing, implementing and overseeing information governance and data access processes for our HDRC (Health Determinants Research Collaboration).
This post will ensure that we have the right governance in place to enable us to connect datasets and harness the power of data to drive our research agenda.
The right candidate will need to hit the ground running as we are at an exciting stage in the implementation of this innovative programme to enhance our research capacity and tackle health inequalities.
They will have expert knowledge of relevant legislation including the Data Protection Act and ideally,
specialist knowledge of the research data provisions within the Act.
They will possess excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with colleagues across all service areas and partner organisations to research, review and implement solutions.
Additionally the post-holder will be responsible for creating and updating relevant policies in line with national and industry standards and best practice.
The role will provide informed, authoritative, timely and accurate advice for HDRC partners and collaborators on information governance issues including GDPR and DPA provisions.
The post-holder will also actively champion research and help to raise the profile of research and the data governance objectives of the HDRC.
The post-holder will also assist with training on IG issues for council staff and partner organisations.
