We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Patient Pathway Coordinator to work closely with our clinical teams to develop services and meet the demands of our population.

The post holder will play a key role in actively managing the administrative processes of Trauma patient pathways for the Plastic Surgery department at The Royal London Hospital to ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their journey.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role in actively managing the administrative processes of patient pathways and the administrative staff for the Plastic Surgery Department based at The Royal London Hospital.
The purpose of this role is to ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their journey and to provide an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.
The post is pivotal to the running of the department.
As well as our trauma service, we also have a large and expanding elective service. As we work to address the backlog from the pandemic,
we have temporarily increased the size of our admin and medical teams to meet the needs of our patients.
This is a key leadership growth & development post to oversee and coordinate this administrative support.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and driven Senior Patient Pathway Coordinator at The Royal London Hospital. We are looking for ambitious candidates who want to provide the very best in clinical pathway support with a view for development support into growth for future operational management roles such as service delivery managers.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
GCSE and A Level or equivalent standard of education
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of hospital systems (e.g., appointment scheduling and medical records)
- Experience of administration / medical secretarial / pathway experience or equivalent non-NHS
- Experience of investigating and responding to PALs and AIRs complaints or equivalent
- Experience of patient pathway validation and familiarity with patient tracking lists
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a line management or supervisory role
- Experience of implementing change or service improvement
- Supervisory or office management skills equivalent to certificate level
- Experience of assisting in maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment for self and others
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Have a sound understanding of NHS wide initiatives and experience of responding positively to ensure local implementation.
- Sound knowledge of national targets with respect to the patient pathway and operational standards, including knowledge of the DoH RTT Rules suite and reporting guidance.
- Sound knowledge of the Barts Health Access Policy.
- Knowledge of Human Rights, Equality and Diversity policies and procedures.
- Understanding of Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Healthcare Governance and Shared Governance.
