Job description

Are you a seeking a new opportunity where you can make a vital difference?

Due to development within the team, St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth is recruiting a Band 4 Nursing Associate for 18 months to join the highly respected, friendly nursing team at our inpatient unit (IPU) in the beautiful setting of Turnchapel, Plymouth.

Our IPU team prides itself on providing palliative and end of life care of the highest standard for patients with complex care needs, relieving their pain and maintaining their dignity.

As a result, the IPU enjoys a particularly good nurse to patient ratio (typically 1 : 3) to support this standard of care.

The Nursing Associate role is relatively new at St Luke's so we are seeking a resilient individual who can help us shape and develop the role for the future.

You will be given a structured orientation program from our dedicated team supported by Practice Educators to further develop your skills, confidence and competencies in patient care.

While the role we are recruiting to is a challenging one, it is highly rewarding and you will be part of a supportive team working in a positive environment where all our staff and volunteers are valued.

Internal rotation to nights and weekends will be a requirement of the post.

In return, you’ll benefit from excellent opportunities to develop your skills, plus the chance to continue membership of the NHS Pension Scheme for existing members.

Working with us, you will receive an attractive employment package : seven weeks’ annual leave (including bank holidays) rising with service, free onsite parking, and membership of a cashback health plan.

For an informal discussion about the role, please call Hilary Hasson on 01752 401172.

St Luke’s are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where everyone can bring their whole selves to work.

We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in St Luke’s workforce.

These include people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people and LGBTQ+ people.

Closing Date : 17th November 2024

1st Interview Date : TBC

2nd Interview Date : TBC

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
