Your new role As a Communications Officer, you will be responsible for providing a timely and relevant news service to the media, enhancing and protecting the organisation's reputation. You will build professional relationships with journalists, manage media queries, and advise colleagues on communication strategies. Your role includes drafting news releases, arranging interviews, and providing crisis communication support. You will develop and implement communication plans across various channels, including social media,
and monitor media coverage to identify emerging issues. Additionally, you will support the Communications Manager in planning and delivering communication services aligned with business needs. What you'll need to succeed A degree or equivalent qualification (Level 6). At least two years of experience in a communications or press office function. Significant experience in preparing media responses, implementing communication plans, developing stakeholder relationships, and creating social media content. Excellent planning, organisational, and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. A current driving licence or access to transport.
