The Mattress Team is an integral part of Decontamination Services, which covers three critical areas: Sterile Services, Endoscopy, and the Mattress Team. As Team Leader, you will oversee a team of 2 Supervisors and 8 A.T.O.s (Assistant Technical Officers), providing essential services across Kings Mill, Newark, and Mansfield Community hospitals.

Knowledge Requirements
Essential
- Specialist decontamination or equivalent production processes knowledge through ongoing specialist training or experience.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation/ medical equipment
- Knowledge of healthcare and decontamination regulations including working knowledge and compliance with flexible endoscope decontamination regulations
- Wide knowledge of and experience of compliance with Quality Management Systems for all aspects of the decontamination and sterilisation process
- Knowledge of infection control requirements
- Knowledge of relevant Health and safety legislation including COSHH and RIDDOR.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of data quality, data protection and the confidential use of patient information.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and their implementation.
- Understanding of electronic tracking and traceability system functionality.
- Understands concept and management of urgent /priority medical devices and non-conformance.
Desirable
- Knowledge of NHS Policies.
Qualifications Academic/ Craft/ Professional
Essential
- Good general education with GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
- A Level/ NVQ 3 or equivalent
Desirable
- Member of Institute of Decontamination Sciences or working towards becoming a member.
- Knowledge of a quality system BS EN 13485:2003 Medical Device Directive 93/42 EEC.

- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- To attend all internal/external training courses to maintain CPD profile for Decontamination and NHS Policies and Procedures.
Experience

- Extensive experience of working with Sterile/ Decontamination Services
- Demonstrable experience of supervising and motivating staff
- Experience of undertaking operational processes at technician level
- Use of departments tracking information systems and hospital information systems.
- Use of E-series and non-stock ordering systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate potentially complex issues with colleagues.
Contractual Requirements

- Full driving licence to enable travel to other sites
- To be contactable manager weekdays, weekends, and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis
- Weekday, Weekend and Bank Holiday On Call Requirement. To work Saturday and Sunday Rota as part of working week
- Flexible approach to role, where there is a requirement to provide supervision of the service.
