For specialist police posts, eligible candidates will:
- have completed their probation at the closing date;
- be confirmed in the rank of the vacancy;
- not previously been unsuccessful at an assessment or interview for the same post within the last six months;
- have no outstanding disciplines (not including complaints).
- have completed the minimum tenure in your current post (if specialist post)

The attached Confirmation of Suitability to post form should be completed and returned to **************@gmp.police.uk by the closing date. Failure to do so will result in your application being withdrawn.
In order for your application to be progressed to the next stage of the recruitment process, this form must be completed and signed by your Divisional Senior Leadership Team, this can be a Chief Inspector or above.
Please note that a copy of your application should be made available to them in order for them to complete the Confirmation of Suitability to post form. During completion of your application there will be options at the top of the screen to either save your application to your desktop or to print a copy.
The process for providing DNA has changed, candidates will be advised at conditional offer with regards to DNA being provided and recorded on the DNA elimination database.
Due to the Equality Act (2010) the sickness will not be checked until the conditional offer stage of the recruitment process and therefore candidates need to ensure that they have a good attendance record for the last 2 years for Staff and officers and for 12 months for apprentices.
