Role Description : We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Head of Geography Department to lead and manage our dedicated team of Geography teachers.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Geography education at our school, driving academic achievement and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the Geography Department, providing strategic direction and guidance.
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning within the department, maintaining the school’s outstanding reputation.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for staff, promoting professional development and sharing best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary.
- Contribute to the wider school community through participation in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities.
Requirements :
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Geography or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience within a Geography department or similar educational setting.
- Strong understanding of current educational trends and practices, particularly in Geography curriculum and assessment.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
