Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Spanish department
- Oversee and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Spanish
- Mentor and support Spanish teachers, fostering their professional growth
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance students' linguistic and cultural competence
- Organize and coordinate extracurricular activities related to Spanish language and culture
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Spanish education and implement best practices
- Monitor and assess student progress and achievements, providing guidance and support when necessary
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialization in Spanish or a related field
- Postgraduate degree in Spanish or Education (desirable)
- Significant experience teaching Spanish, ideally at a secondary school level
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Passionate about promoting Spanish language acquisition and cultural awareness
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in Spanish education
