Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging science lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs
- Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration, inquiry, and critical thinking
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt the curriculum to ensure all students can access and enjoy science content
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel confident to express their ideas and ask questions
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their learning experience
- Collaborate with the SEN team and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for students
- Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote science education and encourage students to engage with scientific concepts outside the classroom
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching science, preferably in a special educational needs context
- Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies for students with learning difficulties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering positive relationships with students
- A clear DBS check
- Legal right to work in the UK
