As a Category Planning Assistant within the Food categories you will Support in the execution of the marketing plan to meet and exceed customer needs.
Partnering with our traders and working with our corporate marketing teams,
you'll ensure that we understand our customers' needs and assist in the development of marketing strategies to meet and exceed these needs to ultimately deliver a competitive advantage and therefore drive sales.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help deliver impactful promotions, range changes and be a true subject matter expert on the customer journey for your subcategories!
Find your role
- Own tracking of spend, raise purchase orders and report back to category for their monthly P&Ls;
- Own weekly competitor insights for instore & online to keep the trading teams up to date with what's landing in the market and help drive category strategy.
- Autopsy market and media activity around key events and missions.
- Support on admin of agreed category propositions,
such as landing trials to enhance the categories.
- Activate the customer-facing trade & activity plan in-store and online responsible for completing legal noms & media sign-offs in line with trading assistants and update category priority link for Marketing & PR.
- Work with customer & PR team to ensure our best activity gets corporate media support - own admin relating to category trade plan and provide clarity to the customer team on any changes on deals.
Own monthly content surgery and internal PR too e.g. Atrium events.
Review weekly reports from online to ensure lines do not drop off the website and take action to ensure lines can be relisted as soon as possible.
Pick up seasonal / limited edition lines to ensure there always available and that the images are always updated pending the relevant product.
Support online execution analyst in all admin related to Brandbank for each range change chasing down suppliers, communicating internally any risks, escalating with Execution Manager where relevant etc.

- You will have the ability to network and build relationships internally and externally as well as being able to priorities, plan and organise a high volume of work
- Competence in Excel and Powerpoint
