We are delighted to collaborate with a highly-regarded secondary school in Kingston, actively seeking a dedicated and inspiring Food Technology Teacher to join their exceptional Design and Technology department.
This full-time, permanent position offers a unique platform to cultivate a love for culinary arts and nutrition in young minds.
Position Overview :
The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering a comprehensive and engaging Food Technology curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The role entails fostering a dynamic and hands-on learning environment that encourages creativity, practical skills development, and a thorough understanding of food science and nutrition.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and deliver captivating Food Technology lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's educational ethos.
- Create a stimulating classroom and workshop atmosphere that promotes student engagement, participation, and safe practices.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Design and Technology department and across the school to enrich the learning experience.
- Stay abreast of current pedagogical approaches, food safety guidelines, and developments in food technology education.
Qualifications and Experience :
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level.
