Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.

Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs,





local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.

In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Job overview

We are looking for band 6 nurses to join our exceptional paediatric critical care team. The post is open to child registered nurse's who have successfully completed a University accredited Intensive Care course or equivalent and consolidated with 6 months post course experience.

Our specialist staff and services mean we care for children and young people with varying complex conditions, providing specialist services including ECMO.





We are a lead center for intensive care in the south-east region and home of the South Thames Retrieval Service (STRS), a transport service for all critically ill children south of the river Thames.

Successful candidates will be supported to provide exceptional tertiary level nursing care to the child and family.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning and
provision of specialist nursing advice and carries out specialist nursing
procedures.

The post holder will provide clinical supervision to other staff,
students and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in own specialist
area.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Clinical and Patient Care
Independently manage a group of patients within the specialty whilst
working as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and
personalised direct patient care.

Demonstrate appropriate practice and specialist advice in the assessment,
planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. This includes
history taking, physical examination and the requesting of agreed
diagnostic procedures/clinical investigations.

Responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medication
including transfusion of blood and blood products.

Be responsible for assessing and recognising emergencies in the
speciality. To interpret information and take appropriate action and to lead
others to do the same.
