Job Description

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Reporting Scientist to join our fantastic team at our site based in Feltham.

This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first-class business, as aReporting Scientist you will be responsible for the interpretation and reporting of results of drugs ofabuse in urine and oral fluid and providing expert witness statements when required. This roleinvolves a variety of tasks including assisting in the developments of new methods to continuallyimprove our capability and delight our customers.







Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The successful candidate will also be expected to carry out the following

- Interpretation of analytical data, reporting of results and providing expert witness statementswhen required.
- Delivery of work projects, such as developing new methods as well as improving existingones effectively to agreed deadlines in response to customer demand and organisationalchange.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate levels of accreditation for the laboratory.
- Provide guidance and advice for all issues relating to quality within the laboratory.
- Ensure that internal and external quality controls are carried out, and that appropriatecorrective and preventive measures are taken to ensure standards are maintained.






- Organise and help develop direct and indirect reports to improve the delivery of day-to-daywork and projects.
- Ensure equipment is effectively and economically maintained so that the laboratory function isnot compromised by unscheduled downtime. (GC-MS, LC-MS-MS, GC-MS-MS).
- Participating in the technical work such as extraction of drugs of abuse
- Generate and implement ideas in line with CI
- Demonstrate an awareness of, and compliance with, health and safety regulations, and act asa COSHH advisor.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- As part of the team ensure that operational targets are met and exceeded where possible.
- Achieving key performance indicator targets.
- Any queries are dealt with in a professional and timely manner ensuring TAT is met andcustomer satisfaction.






- Provide expert witness interpretations.

Qualifications

The ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone with a degree in Chemistry or Science related subject along with atleast5 years of relevant experience (preferable but not essential), is highly motivated, enthusiastic andpossesses the competence and team spirit to support others and contribute to a positive culture. To gain security clearance you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. Security clearance is undertaken by a third party to police personnel vetting standards, as such any criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment.
