ScottishPower are recruiting an Applications Analyst to join our Energy Networks Centre of Excellence to deliver high quality applications solutions and 3rd line application support in accordance with business requirements.
What you’ll be doing
Working alongside the solution architects, you’ll configure application solutions against design specifications and blueprints in accordance to agreed standards and procedures. Ensuring that the scope of any application design takes account of the full systems lifecycle including security, controls,
data migration, user administration, disaster recovery etc.
• To configure/develop application solutions against design specifications in accordance with agreed standards and procedures provided by Solutions Architects
• To complete Unit and Integration testing of work products in line with agreed processes ensuring completion within allocated timescales.
• To coordinate/provide third line application support as required, in line with agreed SLA’s
• To provide technical expertise in systems applications within a nominated domain area
• Liaise with project delivery teams and external contractors as required, with responsibility to ensure solutions meet specified goals/requirements.
• Provides expert UK input to business and IT project teams for specific Application Solution areas.
• Able to build detailed solutions as defined during the Design stage by the Application Consultant / Solution Architect
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for candidates with a relevant HND or Degree level qualification supplemented with recognised solution analysis or system design qualifications. You’ll have a background in applications development and experience delivering IT systems projects.
- A high-level awareness of IT application development
- A broad understanding of integration requirements across a diverse applications portfolio
- Experience of design modelling and document management tools
- Project management skills
- Able to prioritise multiple streams of work
You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to liaise well with stakeholders across the business and translate potentially vague business problems into application solutions.
You’ll have a creative approach to issues resolution and will adopt a risk management approach.
This role operates as part of a global team and periodic travel to Spain and other company locations may be required, as well as attendance at conferences and external venues.
