Join our passionate and dedicated psychiatric liaison team, where you can make a real difference in the lives of young people. As part of our dynamic team, you'll be part of a vital mental health liaison and assessment service to the Paediatric and Accident and Emergency Departments at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, delivering comprehensive care on a 7-day-a-week basis. Our team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to improving mental health services for children aged 11-17. If you're looking for a role where your expertise can shine, and your voice can help shape the future of mental health care for children, we want to hear from you!

We will consider applicants who want to undertake a developmental post or secondment.

The successful applicant must have the necessary professional qualification, including current registration as outlined in the person specification.

It is a community-based post and therefore a valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is essential.

- Offer an assessment service to individual patients aged 11-17 presenting at hospital departments with a broad range of mental health and psychological needs
- Providing a mental health consultation, liaison and advice service throughout the hospital departments
- Delivering a range of evidence based psychological interventions to individual patients aged 11-17 who have predominantly self-harmed
- Assisting and supporting general hospital colleagues in making decisions about care and treatment in complex situations
- Providing formal and informal education and clinical supervision to registered and unregistered staff
- Representing mental health services within Hospitals Trust

- Providing a communication structure between secondary mental health services, primary care and non-statutory services, as a means of ensuring the highest possible standards patients care

At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it. This is the same approach we take for our employees. We look to value the skills and experiences of those we work with, whether they are service users, carers, families or those looking to work with us.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. We treat NHS patients according to NHS principles and standards.

The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.

Our Staff Survey results showed people at our Trust feel they are engaged, part of a team and work for a compassionate and inclusive organisation.

Our overall scores were better than average in eight of nine themes and level in one - the best overall results for a community, mental health and learning disabilities Trust in the south west and first equal amongst all sector NHS providers within the region too.
