Activity Worker Band 3

Are you motivated by engaging Adults in recreational/leisure, meaningful activities and seeing the direct benefit of this on their health and wellbeing? Are you creative, enabling you to facilitate innovative and appealing activities for service users? Are you driven and able to work autonomously to develop this activity provision and improve our offer for patients at Eden Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Inpatient Unit?

If the answer is yes, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Activity Worker working on Eden PICU Ward within the Eden site to work in collaboration with our existing MDT team.

You would be working with an enthusiastic, hardworking ward team,





who value the benefits of recreational activity for service users on the ward.

Successful candidates will need to lead on delivering a high-quality activity provision for the patients of Eden PICU Ward, with flexible work including evenings hours and at weekends, using a variety of meaningful activities both in groups and with individual patients.

To work directly with patients with complex needs, providing engagement opportunities to maximise wellbeing and support recovery.

To engage female within an inpatient PICU mental health setting, providing an activity programme, which is appropriate to the needs of patients who have complex and challenging needs (both physical and mental health).

To provide direct support to Allied Health Practitioners, nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team, in the context of meaningful activity work on the ward.

To work as part of a team, focusing on the direct needs of patients,





working across boundaries of care and organisations to promote social inclusion and promote active participation in an individualised recovery plan, using the agreed set of values and skills to underpin their day-to-day work.

To demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk and apply this in practice and to undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the service.
