We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a secondary school in Leeds. This full-time position starts ASAP, and you will play a vital role in helping students who are struggling to access the curriculum due to behavioural issues.
Requirements :
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Relevant experience working with young people, particularly in a behaviour support or pastoral role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities :
- Corridor Monitoring : Ensure smooth transitions between classes and maintain a calm environment.
- Behavioural Support : Respond to poor behaviour in the classroom through calm, measured conversation and support.
- Inclusion Supervision : Supervise students in inclusion, ensuring they remain focused and engaged in their work.
- One-to-One Support : Work closely with individual students, providing tailored behavioural and emotional support to help them succeed.
- Small Group Interventions : Facilitate small group sessions to support students in managing their behaviour and improving their engagement with the curriculum.
