Job description
Head of Sustainability required for leading building surveying and project management firm.
Ideally you will be well placed to build a fee generating income stream and team for a well established business. Must have a passion for sustainability and Net Zero.
Areas to be established include BREAM, EPC and Compliance, Energy Modelling, Sustainability, Energy Audits and Net Zero.
Key responsibilities :
- Develop and implement a sustainability strategy for the company, in line with industry best practices and government regulations
- Lead and manage a team of sustainability professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and achievement of targets
- Build and maintain relationships with clients,
identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the sustainability sector
- Conduct research and analysis on sustainability trends and developments, and make recommendations for the company's approach
- Oversee the delivery of sustainability projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard
- Collaborate with other departments within the company to integrate sustainability practices into all areas of the business
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry standards related to sustainability, and ensure compliance across the company
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences, promoting our sustainability initiatives and building our reputation in the market
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the progress and success of sustainability initiatives and projects
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a sustainability role, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing sustainability strategies
- Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and standards, such as BREAM and EPC
- Experience in managing and leading a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Passion for sustainability and a strong understanding of the importance of Net Zero in the built environment
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to sustainability in the UK
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven mindset
- Willingness to travel for business purposes, as needed.
