Job description
Senior Lecturer Business Management
The Department of Business and Law at Solent University, Southampton, is seeking a Senior Lecturer for Business Management to predominantly teach across a range of business topics within our successful Higher Degree Apprenticeship suite of programmes, including the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) and Senior Leader Higher Degree Apprenticeship (SLA).
The role would be responsible for ensuring the effective development and delivery of the teaching ensuring that the delivery of modules enhance the student experience, student progression and attainment.
In addition the role would support the Apprenticeship Programme Manager to ensure quality assurance criteria around end point assessment portfolio readiness and supporting portfolio development and its integration into the end to end programme.
We would be looking for the successful candidate to have strong experience of delivering on and supporting higher degree apprenticeship programmes.

who also have relevant teaching and industry experience that is related to Higher Degree Apprenticeship business management topic areas.
Our innovative learning design framework has inclusivity at the heart, alongside providing strong graduate attributes mapped to the UN Sustainability goals, which is delivered across directed, collaborative and guide learning modes.
Therefore, strong knowledge of learning pedagogies is vital, including knowledge of online and blended learning and in developing interactive materials on the virtual learning environments to support the student learning experience.
The Department of Business and Law has held the Chartered Association of Business School's Small Business Charter award since 2014 and has recently been shortlisted in the Small Business Charter Excellence Awards for Outstanding support for student Enterprise and entrepreneurship and won the prestigious Chartered Management Institutes HE Training Provider of the Year 2022 award.
Over two thirds of our staff hold Advance HE status and just under half are working towards Senior or Principal Fellow where there is strong encouragement and support for staff to develop their Advance HE case studies and applications.
Solent University was recently award TEF Gold overall and also GOLD for student experience and student outcomes.
The Business School has a strong network of industry experts and alumni who input into the curriculum along with live briefs to inform research led and knowledge exchange programmes.
The Department also holds Department wide events and insight series to extend both staff and student networks.
As this role is linked to Higher Degree Apprenticeships there may be requirements for teaching / engagement to take place across weekends or outside or normal working hours on occasion.
There may also be requirements to travel to attend and support UK events on behalf of the University.
Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

During the interview the shortlisted candidates will be asked to design and deliver a 10 minute micro teaching session which would be aimed at apprentices.
The topic that we would want you to deliver is "Introduce and explain the KSB's in relation to the CMDA standard and how to integrate these into your learning and portfolio."
