About the role
The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all financial and research management and administration at the
Institute, including oversight of research grant management and monitoring, training and taking forward new initiatives and developments.
They will lead a team, line managing two Senior Finance and Research Administrators, to ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective professional service for all aspects of financial and research management and administration at IoO.
The post holder will prepare budget proposals and costings as part of the annual budget planning cycle,
monitor income and expenditure and ensure the institute achieve contribution targets and agreed cost savings.
They will also produce forecasts and oversee month-end and year-end financial processes, as well as producing management information for planning and inform decision making.
The post is available immediately until 03 September .
this is full-time secondment post for internal UCL applicants only and is funded for 12 months.

About you
You will have experience of managing finance and research grant administration within the Higher Education sector and will have some experience of producing financial reports, budget proposals and forecasts.
Experience of managing people and promoting teamwork is key as is experience of managing projects.
You will demonstrate the ability to meet tight individual and group deadlines and to manage your own workload with a flexible approach to work.
Excellent IT skills,
a high level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse financial information and disseminate information appropriately and to a high standard is essential.
You will demonstrate the ability to develop successful working relationships and strong interpersonal skills.
