About the Role :
- Design and deliver engaging and informative textiles lessons across all levels, adhering to the curriculum (if applicable) or following the college's established program.
- Cultivate a stimulating and well-equipped studio environment that fosters exploration, experimentation, and a love for textiles.
- Guide students in developing a comprehensive understanding of core textile techniques, materials, and design principles.
- Prepare students for success in portfolios, exhibitions, or external examinations (as applicable).
- Collaborate with colleagues in the art and design department to develop a cohesive curriculum and contribute to college-wide events.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the textiles studio and equipment.
The Ideal Candidate :
- Possesses a relevant qualification in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field (e.g., Fine Art with a textiles focus).
- Demonstrates a strong passion for textiles and a captivating teaching style that inspires creativity.
- Holds a proven track record of success in teaching textiles or a related subject.
- Excels in communication, interpersonal skills, and classroom / studio management.
- Encourages a culture of experimentation, exploration, and critical thinking within the studio environment.
- Maintains a strong understanding of current trends and developments in the textile field.
- Holds a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
