Technical Staffing Resources (TSR) are the in-house agency and master vendor for KBR who are a leading global engineering, construction, and services company.
KBR support the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents. Serving their customers through diverse business units, KBR offer challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.
KBR are looking to recruit a Principal Instrument Engineer on 12 month contract based in Leatherhead

- Outside IR35, highly likely so engagement through a LLC is permitted
- Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced multi-disciplined Instrument Engineer to work mainly in the Oil & Gas sector covering greenfield offshore projects and projects ranging from conceptual studies, FEED, detailed design to complete installations.
Ideal candidates wil be able to develop the preliminary and final stage I&C;, and design deliverables including contributing to P&IDs; Instrument List, Instrument specifications, and Instrument Data Sheets.
Skills / Responsibilities
Knowledge of brownfield projects.
- Experienced in several process & utility systems, incl. Control Systems, Fire & Gas and safety system.
- Knowledge of instrument and electrical equipment used in the oil industry.
- Review P&IDs; and develop Instrument Index
- Developing philosophies and datasheets.
- Produce new documentation and drawings such as Cauce & Effect, loop drawing both for process, Fire & Gas and safety systems.
- Revise existing documentation and drawings.
- Produce work packages for installation.
- Review design deliverable Cable routing drawings, Hookup and layouts
- Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.
- Order all instrument materials needed for installation.
- Must be able to understand P&IDs; and drawings from different disciplines.
- Discussions with Client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions.
- Having working knowledge of IEC 61508 & IEC61511."
