Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant Role
- Provide individualised support to students with special educational needs, including those with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD,
and other challenges
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing personalised learning plans and accommodations to meet the diverse needs of SEN students
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported
- Support students during transitions between activities, classes, and locations within the school environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents / carers
Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements
- 1st or 2 : 1 degree from a top UK university
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs
- A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students who may face challenges in their learning journey
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs and preferences of students
