Role Overview
As a Sociology and Psychology Teacher, you will :
- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Sociology and Psychology to KS3 / KS4 / KS5 students.
- Inspire students to explore and understand societal and psychological concepts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Sociology and Psychology curriculum.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Sociology and Psychology.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Create a stimulating and safe classroom environment where students feel valued and motivated.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Sociology and / or Psychology at KS3 / KS4 / KS5 level.
- Strong knowledge of the Sociology and Psychology curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching.
