Navigating the position :
Ocean Technologies Group (OTG) is seeking a dynamic Director of Product Management to lead our product management team and spearhead the transformation of our product portfolio from traditional vertical solutions to a platform-based model .
In this pivotal role,
you'll oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle , ensuring our platform solutions are scalable, innovative, and aligned with key business goals.
Your leadership will shape and execute product strategies that deliver outstanding user experiences while fostering cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
We’re looking for an inspiring visionary with a strong strategic mindset and deep expertise in platform-based product management .
As Director, you will guide the transition to a unified platform, improving efficiency, scalability , and user experience , while ensuring our products stay ahead of market trends.
You’ll mentor and develop a high-performing team , nurture stakeholder relationships, and drive the business towards key performance targets .
This role involves close collaboration with teams across Engineering, Design, Data, Sales, Marketing , and Senior Leadership , as well as external stakeholders.
You will ensure alignment with OTG’s broader business objectives and lead the development of solutions that position OTG for long-term success and innovation.
We are seeking a leader with a strong background in product management, technical expertise , and customer-focused vision to keep OTG’s offerings competitive and market-leading in a rapidly evolving industry.
Your Voyage Ahead
Team Leadership :
Lead, mentor, and develop the product management team, ensuring they have the skills and resources necessary to succeed.
Product Strategy :
- Develop and execute product strategies focused on transitioning to a platform approach while aligning with business objectives.
- Support product managers in their respective areas to create and deliver winning product strategies.
Product Development :
Oversee the full product lifecycle, from ideation to market launch and ongoing improvements, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
Platform Transition :
Guide the company's shift from a traditional product portfolio to a scalable platform-based model, driving integration and efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement :
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Marketing) and external stakeholders to ensure product goals are aligned.
Market Research :
Conduct research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs for platform-based solutions.
Customer Focus :
Use user feedback and market insights to inform product decisions that enhance user experience.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement :
Identify and implement process improvements across product management, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Recommended to bring on board
Educational Attainment :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
Professional Background :
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in product management or a related field, with a proven track record of managing teams and overseeing the entire product lifecycle.
- Extensive experience managing platform-based product portfolios and leading transformation initiatives.
- Prior experience as a Chief Product Officer (CPO) or VP of Product in a smaller start-up environment is highly desirable.
Key Competencies :
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage complex product portfolios and successfully drive transformation initiatives.
- Deep expertise in product lifecycle management, particularly in platform or technology-driven environments.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, market research, and financial management.
- Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving product innovation.
