Position : Principal Chassis Engineer
Duration : Permanent
Location : Solihull
Hybrid Role
Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.*
I am recruiting on behalf of my client who are known for manufacturing luxury-handcrafted motorcycles. They are looking for Principal Chassis Engineer to join their expanding team on a Contract basis.
As a Principal Chassis Engineer your main responsibilities are :
- Overseeing and managing the design of new class leading motorcycle chassis.
- Ensuring application of relevant industry standards and benchmarking of competitor vehicles.
- Production of realistic, logical and relevant plans and timelines.
- Approving designs and drawings.
- Support in the selection of applicable materials and manufacturing process.
- Manage chassis specific design reviews.
- Acting first deputy for the Chief Engineer in their absence
Qualifications / Skills Required :
- Hands-on engineering and mechanical experience.
- A minimum of 10 years automotive engineering background and / or minimum of 5 years motorcycle experience.
- CREO experience is preferred but not essential.
- An understanding of motorcycle chassis design and its interaction with powertrain and electronics.
- A knowledge of DFM and DFA.
- Experience liaising with the supply chain.
- Experience in materials and manufacturing processes.
