Class 1 Day Driver

The position of Class 1 Day Driver involves :
- Delivering of specialist parts and equipment on behalf of our client to keep their local depots fully stocked, ready for them to complete planned maintenance work.
- Working on a set delivery rota with known destinations and depots.
- Loading / unloading of vehicle using a Counterbalance forklift truck (training provided), ensuring load security.
- Completing daily pre and post vehicle checks.
- Putting stock away at the delivery depots, either by hand or using a forklift.
- Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customer's expectations.
- You may be required to spend the occasional night out a week (tax free allowance paid).
- Attending regular training sessions.
Essential skills required for Class 1 Day Driver :
- Must have a UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
- Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Working to deadlines.
- Confident, polite and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
