About the role

At Saint and Sofia, we believe in luxury for all. We’re an award winning brand based in London, England creating fashion and accessories that are fair and sustainable. We design all of our styles in our London studios and make them in Europe with family-owned partner factories. Started in January 2020, we have dedicated operations and Fulfilment Centres in the USA, UK and Europe supporting over 500,000 customers.

The Saint and Sofia team, now over 50 people, with previous experience at leading luxury brands. In March 2023, we were awarded the Investors in People Gold Award for creating an outstanding working environment for our team. In June 2023, we were also nominated for the Employer of The Year Award.





Saint and Sofia styles have been featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Stylist, Harpers Bazaar, The Times and others. Digitally native, our first store will open in Covent Garden in London in Winter 2024.

As Junior Designer, you’ll be working to support our London based Senior Designers in designing our collections across product categories from our studios.

On a day to day basis:

- Working closely with the Senior Designers to execute range development end to end from briefs given. As well as working collaboratively with all in house departments, such as print, buying, merchandising & pattern cutting.
- Supporting range development by pro-actively driving research and presenting new ideas. Showing In depth trend knowledge, clearly identify department key items, key colours, new fabrics and details in line with the S&S; customer. Specifically manage trousers and tops categories.
- Confident ability in delivering industry standard tech packs for new garment developments.






- Keeping sustainability at the forefront of all development, constantly researching and evolving the brand to be the market leaders. Sourcing the newest sustainable fabrics and trims to elevate the range.
- Reacting to sales information and designing commercially relevant fashion forward ranges.
- Researching current and future trends by a collection of different sources to identify newness and interpret into first to market pieces.
- Working with the technical team on initial fits. Identifying and helping solve for the department.
- Building relations with suppliers and advising factories on direction, construction, key details, materials, and trims.
- Adhering to the critical path to achieve deadlines, ensuring product is developed for the relevant and optimum selling period.






- An ability to research and develop unique products working with short lead times.
- Also assisting with any other admin tasks including but not limited to, fabric and trim organisation, organising parcels to suppliers, office administration.

Qualifications

- Fashion degree from a leading global university, having achieved at least upper second class or equivalent.
- Previous experience in designing for a leading luxury or premium brand.
- Previous experience of working with European and UK suppliers
- Strong understanding of technical design packs and a strong knowledge of commercial garment construction, fabric construction and trims.
- Strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the Saint & Sofia Customer
- Computer Skills: Photoshop, Adobe,





CAD
- A fashion forward perspective
- Strong time management
- The ability to communicate to the team & senior management the performance and strategy of the department
- Hands-on, flexible and adaptable.

Working arrangements

- This is a full-time, permanent position offering a hybrid work model.
- The successful candidate will need to be able to commit to 3 days per week in our Tower Bridge, London Office.
