About the Opportunity

Given the demand for talent in the energy market, we are looking to develop talent from aligned sectors and want to offer civil engineers the opportunity to move into the Energy Transition sector – you will be offered support and development if this is not a sector you have experience in, or just hit the ground running on exciting projects if you already know this market well!
Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for an Energy Consultant who can progress in an advisory role to provide support to projects across Jacobs’ markets. This includes work on future energy systems and technologies including renewables, low carbon generation and storage technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Programme/Project Management and being accountable for key tasks and quality data outputs by formulating, evaluating and preparing technical analysis of schemes
- Engaging with a range of stakeholders at all levels (directors, internal networks, clients,
regulators, partners etc.)
- Energy generation technology options appraisals and life cycle cost analysis
- Energy management, asset reviews and audit surveys, energy demand modelling and preparing low carbon energy solutions that are either led by reconfiguring existing operations at sites or developing new strategies
- Research on innovative technologies and application to requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in the energy field (industrial / utilities)
- An engineering degree, likely to have a focus on energy (Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent process-related degree)
- Data validation and analysis skills with the ability to identify, develop and implement business improvement solutions.
As such a high level of competency in MS Excel is expected
