The Opportunity
As operational resilience becomes more critical across the financial industry, RiskTAE, a globally recognised leader in risk management recruitment, has been engaged by a leading global asset management firm to source a Senior Associate for Operational Resilience and Risk. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the resilience and continuity of critical business functions, with a specific focus on aligning with the latest regulatory standards, including DORA, FCA, and CBI.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Resilience (Core Focus)
- Strategic Leadership in Operational Resilience: Lead the enhancement and execution of the firm’s operational resilience framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory demands (DORA, FCA, CBI), focusing on all critical business services.
- Scenario Testing & Impact Analysis: Design and manage scenario testing and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for EMEA operations to identify potential weaknesses and improve preparedness for significant disruptions.
- Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM): Oversee the TPRM programme with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and operational resilience, ensuring due diligence for critical third-party services.
- DORA Implementation: Lead the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) implementation programme,
ensuring comprehensive adoption across EMEA entities.
- Cyber-Security Resilience: Partner closely with the Information Security team to strengthen cyber-security measures, ensuring preparedness against emerging cyber threats.
- Business Continuity Management (BCM): Manage and maintain the business continuity policy and procedures, conducting regular testing and governance reporting.
Operational Risk Management (Secondary Focus)
- Risk Frameworks & Controls: Support the embedding of operational risk frameworks, ensuring robust oversight of control weaknesses and improvement of processes to mitigate future risks.
- Risk Event Management: Conduct deep-dive analyses of significant risk events, identifying root causes, and managing remediation plans.
- Control Self-Assessments: Oversee the risk and control self-assessment process, ensuring compliance with evolving best practices.
- Reporting & Analytics: Contribute to the integration of advanced data analytics (e.g., Tableau) into operational risk reporting, ensuring comprehensive visibility for senior management and the board.
Key Candidate Requirements
- Industry Experience: Demonstrable experience (minimum 2 years) in an asset management/ investment management (Buy-Side) or related financial services firm, preferably within Operational Resilience, Operational Risk, IT risk, or internal audit.
- Operational Resilience Expertise: Strong exposure to operational resilience frameworks, including business continuity management (BCM), cybersecurity,
and third-party risk management (TPRM).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant regulations, including DORA, FCA, and CBI, and an ability to implement frameworks in line with regulatory requirements.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to conduct detailed analyses of risk events and implement strategic solutions to mitigate future occurrences.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with teams across business, IT, and compliance.
