A top independent UK law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer to join their dynamic team in Bristol. The main purpose of this role is to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, particularly regarding contract management.
This role is best suited to someone with prior experience within a law firm, ideally within a risk management role. Equally, someone with experience in a commercial contract review/negotiation role would also be considered favourably. Familiarity with the SRA Handbook and relevant legal/regulatory legislation would be beneficial to this role but is not mandatory.
Some responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive regulatory risk training
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislative/regulatory changes and ensure policies/procedures are promptly updated
- Address regulatory risk and compliance issues/queries
- Aid in ongoing reviews of engagement letters and terms of business
- Provide guidance regarding legal documentation, framework terms and contracts
- Assist in the onboarding of firm suppliers, specifically with contract term reviews and due diligence assessments
- Review client engagement terms, codes of conduct and KYC advice
- Advise on secondment terms for new and existing secondments
- Assist in the prompt delivery of client pitches and questionnaires
