Permanent Salary Guide: £30,000 – £42,000 Quick Summary of this Middleweight Interior Designer Role
We are representing a rapidly growing workplace developer and operator who are looking for a Middleweight Interior Designer to join their in house design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong middleweight interior designer to have hands on experience from concept to completion working very closely with the Head of Design. This opportunity is looking for a sharp client facer with strong technical skills (Revit) and thorough experience across Cat A and B workplace projects. This a creatively driven opportunity working in a fast pace environment and would best suit someone with a strong commercial acumen.
Middleweight Interior Designer Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of Design from concept to completion
- Contributing creative and innovative ideas for commercial workplace projects
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, presenting design concepts and solutions confidently
- Ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality design standards
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders on-site to manage and resolve any issues
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address design-related queries, and ensure that all work is being carried out in line with the design brief, timeline, and budget
- Develop creative design concepts for CAT A and CAT B fit-outs that align with client needs and the overall commercial strategy of the workplace developer
- Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications, using Revit
- Conduct thorough research to source materials, furnishings, and finishes that enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the commercial spaces, while remaining mindful of project budgets.
- All designs comply with current building regulations, safety standards, and accessibility requirements, particularly for commercial spaces
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that multiple design projects are managed effectively, with a focus on organization, prioritisation, and attention to detail
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure smooth project delivery and maintain strong relationships across the board.
- Stay updated on the latest design trends, technologies,
and workplace strategies to continuously innovate and elevate the design quality in line with modern commercial office demands.
Skills Necessary for this Middleweight Interior Designer Role
- Experience in commercial workplace projects
- Must have on site experience
- Must have experience working on Cat A and B projects
- Must have experience in FF&E; and Procurement
- Confident in working under pressure and in a fast pace
- Some existing experience in pitching is preferable
- Strong client facer and communicator
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe CS
- Proactive character and a strong sense of initiative
- A genuine a passion for workplace design.
- Must have a degree in Interior/ Furniture/ Product Design or equivalent.
