We are currently supporting one of our customer based in London that are looking for a Lead Data Engineer that will focus on enhancing and transforming the data capabilities including their ETL processes, automation, assessing and implementing performance improvements to existing pipelines and cloud setup and also lead a small team of data engineers in a hands-on manner to deliver scalable data solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED
* at least 4 years of experience in a similar role working with GCP cloud functions.
* Hands-on experience designing, building, and launching end-to-end data pipelines and data warehouses in commercial cloud providers (GCP)
* Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, Unix or Linux shell scripting,
end-to-end ELT, GCP, APIs, and more.
* Full-stack thinker: Proven experience in software development lifecycle in analytics (e.g. version control, testing, and CI/CD) in fast-paced environments.
* Experience with cloud data warehouses especially Google BigQuery but also Snowflake
* Python & SQL master: Wrangle & transform data with ease.
* Experience with data architecture is a big advantage
* Good communications skills both verbally and written; this role will be working closely with business users and in a small, high impact data team
Initial contract will be 3 months and the role is hibrid.
