Senior Occupational TherapistLocation: West MidlandsMyn is recruiting on behalf of our long-term partner in the West Midlands for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Occupational Therapy Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to take on a senior role, supporting individuals of all ages with physical disabilities to maintain independence and improve their quality of life.What You’ll Do:
- Provide functional assessments for people with physical disabilities, including complex paediatric cases, in both community and hospital settings.
- Recommend and assess for specialist equipment and major adaptations to meet the complex needs of children and adults,
promoting independence and well-being.
- Use sound clinical judgement to develop and implement care packages, aids to daily living, and necessary adaptations based on individual assessments.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to provide holistic support.
- Offer supervision and support to a diverse team, including Student Occupational Therapists and apprentices.
- Deliver training and coaching to staff members of varying grades, tailoring the approach to different learning styles.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring all assessments and recommendations meet health and social care standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Significant experience working with people of all ages who have physical disabilities, ideally in both community and hospital settings.
- Experience with assessing for and recommending specialist equipment and major adaptations.
- A thorough understanding of health and social care legislation, risk management, and health and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex and sensitive information clearly in both verbal and written formats.
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary working and supervising staff, with a supportive and collaborative approach.
- Ability to manage conflict, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a demanding work environment.
