Supplier Relationship Manager
Hybrid working with 3 days per week working from home
Salford Quays, Manchester
Permanent
Circa £60K per annum dependent upon experience

As our IT Supplier Relationship Manager,
you will be responsible for maximising the in-contract relationship from Bupa’s strategic suppliers. This includes managing the suppliers within Bupa’s Supplier Management Framework, ensuring compliance with Bupa regulatory obligations, reducing contract costs, extracting value, and building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to obtain optimum performance.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
1. Onboarding suppliers post-contract award, managing suppliers against the Supplier Management Framework, and building ongoing relationships.
2. Leading regular governance review meetings with strategic suppliers to review performance against contracts, including SLA performance, cost reductions, continuous improvement opportunities, and quality of service.
3. Ensuring suppliers fulfil FCA compliance (where applicable).
4. Owning and managing supplier risk profiles to mitigate supply chain risks, reducing the risk of financial or reputational damage.
5. Undertaking due diligence and assurance reviews with suppliers.
6. Resolving operational and service incidents,
ensuring root cause analysis is undertaken and processes are amended where appropriate.
7. Driving the strategy of the category, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive innovation, efficiencies, and business development opportunities.
8. Leading internal reviews with key stakeholders to identify business needs and translating them into relationship development plans with suppliers.
9. Developing and maintaining plans to prioritise and implement continuous improvement in service, cost, risk, and flexibility.
10. Instigating and developing action plans to remedy poor supplier performance and managing these plans through to successful conclusion.
11. Leading market scanning and benchmarking to monitor the supply market and ensure competitiveness.
12.
Providing regular Management Information reports and updates to business stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Experience in managing suppliers against FCA (SYSC 8/13) and PRA handbook requirements.
- Experience in supplier assurance or audit.
- Knowledge of working with and managing outsourced Service Providers.
- Good knowledge of supply chain processes and improvement tools.
- Professional Procurement or Risk Management qualifications.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and compliance activities.
- Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, with an emphasis on drafting schedules.
- Strong commercial awareness with a record of value-based delivery.
- Analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex topics effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience in building and maintaining effective relationships at all levels.
