Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Officer in the Transformation Team to work on the Trusts’ transformation programme.

The team works at the heart of hospital operations, working directly with clinical staff and care groups to improve quality, safety and flow of patient care. It is made up of around 33 improvement professionals (clinical and non-clinical) who adapt a range of improvement methodologies to deliver specific projects and build a sustainable culture of continuous improvement. The post holder will be required to support a variety of projects to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care across outpatients, theatres and inpatients.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to:

- Plan, implement and sustain service improvement and re-design
- Influence and negotiate change effectively with senior colleagues in a clinical setting
- Professionally support project implementation and delivery
- Use improvement methodologies and data to understand and improve processes
- Be interested in learning improvement skills through formal and informal training.

The individual will require excellent interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of clinical and managerial staff. Experience in either project management or service improvement is desirable,





this is a development role and the post holder would expect to expand their knowledge of these skills while in the post. Experience working in a clinical setting is also desirable. This role will provide exposure and opportunity to engage with other Trusts to share learning.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

- First Degree or equivalent experience/diploma level qualification
- Supervisory / management training or development programme

Desirable criteria







- Evidence of relevant further training/study
- Formal data analysis and presentation training
- Formal project management training

Knowledge, and experience

Essential criteria

- Experience of providing administrative support to projects
- Evidence of team working and providing supervision / management to staff.
- Comfortable with IT and able to use spreadsheet packages, undertake data analysis and presentation
- Literate, with report writing skills and experience
- Good verbal and written communication
- Analytical, accurate & timely data input






- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or industry
