Our highperforming secondary school seeks aqualified and passionate Geography Key Stage Coordinator to joinour dynamic Geography department.
This is an excellent opportunityto lead and inspire a team of Geography teachers and shape thefuture of Geography education within ourschool.
About theRole :
As Geography Key StageCoordinator you will :
- Lead theGeography department in the ongoing development of a stimulatingand challenging Geography curriculum.
- Overseethe quality of teaching learning and assessment in Geography acrossKey Stage 3 and potentially Key Stage4.
- Identify and implement innovative teachingand learning strategies to enhance student engagement andgeographical understanding.
- Foster acollaborative and supportive environment within the Geographydepartment promoting the sharing of best practices and professionaldevelopment.
- Teach a full timetable of engagingand stimulating Geography lessons.
- Utilize avariety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles andensure all students reach their fullpotential.
- Employ effective assessmentstrategies to monitor student progress and inform futureteaching.
- Maintain strong links with externalgeographical societies and organizations to enrich the curriculumand provide students with wider learningopportunities.
- Develop and manage thedepartments resources budgeteffectively.
The IdealCandidate :
- QualifiedGeography teacher with a minimum of 5 years successful teachingexperience including significant leadershipexperience.
- A proven track record of raisingstandards in Geography and a demonstrable passion for thesubject.
- Excellent subject knowledge and acommitment to staying abreast of current trends and developments inGeography education.
- Strong leadership andmanagement skills with the ability to motivate and inspirecolleagues.
- Excellent communicationinterpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Acommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learningenvironment for allstudents.
