JOB SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a developing neurodevelopmental team - the successful post holder will be involved in the transformation of these services within LPT.

The post holder will be responsible for leading on the provision of highly specialist Psychology assessment, diagnosis and advice on intervention with children and young people being assessed for Neurodevelopmental Conditions and to lead on facilitating on-going collaboration between CAMHS and the community paediatric service for the benefit of children and young people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions.

The job purpose will be to :

To provide highly specialist assessment,





diagnosis and advice on intervention approaches consistent with professional standards to children and young people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions.

The role will include providing specialist ps y cholo g ical, including diagnostic assess m en t s , reports, de v elopment o f formu l ations, and impl e ment a tion o f ps y cholog i cal inte r v en t ions w i t hin the scientist-practitioner f r a me w ork.

T o draw upon an e x tensi v e k no w l ed g e o f ps y chological t h e ory in order t o inte r p ret complex in f ormation and com m unic a te t his t o others in an acc e ssible w a y .

T o w ork with othe r s i nclud i n g m ulti - disciplinary and multi - a g ency colleagues, and p r o v is i on of specialist ad vi ce and consultancy as r e quired.

We would also consider applicants for Band 7 preceptorship to progress to Band 8a on completion of competencies. recruitment and retention premia scheme for psychological professions would be applicable.

Main duties and Responsibilities :







The successful candidate will w ork auton o mously within t he boundaries of t he Code of Practice o f t he H C P C, D CP of the B PS , local trust pol i c i es and to be a c countab l e f or o w n pro f essional actions.

T o p lan and prio r itise their o w n w or k l oad, supervising w ork o f less e x perienced ps y ch ol o gis ts, counsellor s , clinical ps y chology tr ainees and assis t a n ts.

To be responsible for leading and contributing to service improvement and quality assurance of practice in the identified specialist area in collaboration with the Clinical Lead for Psychology and the Neurodevelopmental Pathway and Service Managers.

W orking independently accessing supervision and Continuing Professional Development to maintain highly specialist skills and competencies.
