The school is looking for a compassionate andexperienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with studentshelping them overcome barriers to learning and ensuring they canparticipate fully in classroom activities.
As part of the SEN teamyou will play a vital role in helping these students succeedacademically andsocially.
Responsibilities :
- Provideoneonone and group support to students with sensory impairmentsadapting resources and teaching strategies to meet their individualneeds.
- Work closely with the class teacher andSENCo to implement personalised learning plans ensuring thatstudents can access the curriculumeffectively.
- Assist students with mobility andthe use of sensory aids ensuring their safety and comfort in theclassroom.
- Monitor student progress providingfeedback to teachers and contributing to assessments and reviews ofstudent development.
- Help create a nurturingand supportive learning environment that encourages independenceand confidence in students with sensoryimpairments.
- Collaborate with externalprofessionals such as occupational therapists and specialistteachers to ensure a coordinated approach tosupport.
Experience andQualifications :
- Previousexperience working with children with sensory impairments is highlydesirable.
- A strong understanding of thechallenges faced by students with sensory needs and the strategiesto support them.
- Excellent communication andteamwork skills with the ability to work closely with teachers SENstaff and external specialists.
- Patienceempathy and a commitment to promoting inclusiveeducation.
- A clear DBScheck.
- Legal right to work in theUK.
