About theRole :
We are seeking aninspirational and highly motivated Lead Practitioner of Maths tolead and develop our Maths department. The successful candidatewill be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven trackrecord of raising attainment a passion for mathematics and acommitment to developing innovative teaching practices.
You willhave the vision and leadership skills to inspire colleagues anddrive the department forward.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Leadingand managing the Maths department including curriculum developmentassessment and staff development
- Monitoring andevaluating the quality of teaching and learning inMaths
- Providing coaching and mentoring tocolleagues in the Maths department
- Leadinginitiatives to raise attainment in Maths across theschool
- Modelling outstanding teaching practiceand sharing best practice withcolleagues
- Contributing to the wider schoolimprovement agenda
TheIdealCandidate :
- QualifiedTeacher Status (QTS)
- A strong academicbackground in Mathematics
- Excellent subjectknowledge and a passion for teachingMaths
- Proven experience of successfully leadingand managing a team
- A track record of raisingattainment in Maths
- Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills
- A commitment to innovationand continuous improvement in teaching andlearning
- A passion for the performing arts andan understanding of how Maths can contribute to students creativedevelopment
