About the role :
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in food preparation, nutrition, and healthy eating, tailored to students' diverse needs.
You will foster a supportive learning environment,
assess student progress, and promote essential life skills in cooking and food safety.
Responsibilities of the Food Technology Teacher :
- Plan and deliver creative and interactive Food Technology lessons that cater to the needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for cooking and nutrition.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Food Technology curriculum and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Participate in school events and activities to promote student engagement and community involvement.
Requirements of the Food Technology Teacher :
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
